What Is The Best BBQ Grill?

As we turn the corner and move into summer, folks are dragging out the BBQ grills. For many it will be a time to make a new purchase. Choose wisely, there are many types of new grills available. For those of you that want down and dirty, no flavor, you are probably going to get yourself a propane grill. These types of grills range in price from $ 100.00 to well over a thousand. You can still get BBQ flavor if you incorporate a $5 -$10 smoker tin. You can place wet would chips inside this metal tinder box to achieve the smoke flavor of authentic BBQ. Not my idea of an adequate solution, but it will work!

Of course if you are looking for the tried and true, Weber manufactures a wide variety of charcoal and wood grills. These types of grills come in a variety of sizes and prices. There are also several heavy ceramic grills out on the market from Komodo to the Big Green Egg. I have many friends that love these types of ceramic beehive type grills, however, they are very heavy, have limited grill space and are not the most portable of the group.

There are also many grills that are offering time and temperature controls. These really assist those of us that do not have the time, but are interested in true BBQ flavor. One such grill that I like is manufactured by Traeger. The Traeger grill is well constructed, has it's own ignition system. No need to mess with lighter fluid or matches, it also has it's own auger system which delivers the wood pellets to the firebox. The convection air system circulates both smoke and air through the grill giving an even cook. The end product is moist and flavorful. My friend Harry likes it so much he bought two, a large and small Traeger grill, and he swears by it. Why he even baked desert on it, last week. You can grill, braise, smoke and bake on these grills they are not labor intensive and accomplish a wide variety of things.

All in all, there are many options when it comes to a grill. It all boils down to personal preference. Visit a showroom closest to you and make sure you view things first hand before you buy. Also make sure that delivery and set up are included in the price.
