Two Delicious Recipes Made from Wm. Macy's Cheessticks and Sweetsticks

1. Baked Macaroni and Cheese with Melting Parmesan CheeseSticks
Looking for the perfect cheese snack for the next dinner party? Try our baked macaroni and cheese with John Wm. Macy's melting parmesan CheeseSticks for a quick and easy appetizer. To give this simple side dish a unique flavor and texture, we have added our famous melting parmesan CheeseSticks. Placed in small bowls, people will be impressed with your ability to transform a classic side dish into an elegant baked cheese snack.
12 oz. Macaroni noodlesIngredients
  • 2 tbs. butter
  • ¼ cup flower
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cup John Wm. Macy's Melting Parmesan CheeseSticks
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Fill a large pot with water and bring to a boil. Slowly drop in the macaroninoodles and cook for 5 to 7 minutes. Remember to occasionally stir the noodles to avoid sticking.
  • In a separate pan melt 2 tbs. butter. Once the butter has melted add ¼ cup flower and mix together. Then add the milk and cheddar cheese. Stir until smooth
  • Once the noodles have been cooked and drained, add in the cheese mixture. This is a great time to add salt and pepper and season it to your liking.
  • In a small sealed bag, crush 2 cups of John Wm. Macy's Melting Parmesan Cheesesticks and set aside.
  • Pour the macaroni and cheese mixture into a baking dish. Add the crushed parmesan CheeseSticks to the top of the dish.
  • Place in the oven and bake for 15 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
For a healthier alternative to this baked Macaroni and Cheese, substitute the white noodles with whole wheat. You can also use skim milk or an original flavor of soymilk to cut calories. If you are feeling really adventurous, add 1 tsp. of basil or oregano to give this dish even more flavor.
2. Puppy Chow with a Twist
Homemade puppy chow was my favorite treat growing up. I loved the rich taste of peanut butter and chocolate chips combined with powdered sugar. Now, I enjoy making this treat as the perfect party snack food for my children's birthdays. This quick and easy appetizer is the perfect dish for any birthday party or even just a fun night with your kids. The ingredients are simple and include a twist that provides that little something extra.
Ingredients
  • 2/3 cup peanut butter
  • ¼ teaspoon butter
  • 1 cup Chocolate Chips
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 box John Wm. Macy's Madagascar Vanilla SweetSticks
  • 3 ½ cups powdered sugar
Directions:
  • Combine the peanut butter and chocolate chips in a microwavable bowl. Microwave the ingredients for one minute or until they can mix together smoothly. Make sure to stop the microwave periodically and stir the ingredients to prevent the chocolate chips from burning.
  • Add the vanilla extract to the ingredients and stir.
  • In a bowl, break the SweetSticks into small pieces. Add the chocolate mixture and coat fully
  • Place the powdered sugar in a large sealable bag
  • Add the chocolate covered Sweet Sticks and shake the bag until all the pieces are covered in the powdered sugar.
  • Once all the pieces are covered, place in a large serving bowl.
Not only is this a party snack that kids will gobble up, adults will enjoy it too! Adding Vanilla SweetSticks gives this easy appetizer and unexpected flavor. Want to spice it up a little? Try adding the cinnamon or Dutch chocolate flavored SweetSticks instead. Puppy chow isn't only fun to eat, it's also fun to make. For your next party, set the ingredients up in stations and allow the children to make their own. Just make sure the station is set up in an area that can get messy!
